It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and to make your happiness a priority. It’s a necessity.
Now, I am all for pampering yourself! If you know me at all, I am constantly banging on about taking a bit of you-time, taking as long as you wish to do your make up and fully milking the pamper evening! I love nothing more than a pamper! Be that a long hot bath with a glass of wine, a face mask or a full evening of make up and hair care! So, it’s time to introduce you to a new extra in my skincare regime. Pristine Dead Sea Mud Mask.
This gorgeous little pot holds a lot of good stuff. I am a huge fan of a face mask and I especially love a good mud mask. Mud masks always boast the ability to heal and soothe skin from the healing waters of the Dead Sea and mud it is made from.
The write up on this mask is massive, so I jumped at the chance to see what it was all about!
It promises to:
minimise the appearance of wrinkles
enhance radiancy of skin
purify pores and cleanse
reduce blemishes and encourage clearer skin
remove excess oil wherein contributing towards clearer and healthier skin
minimise pores
reduce the inflammation of scars
combat and reduce blackheads
ease and reduce inflammation
protect skin from further damage and replace vitamin E
I mean, all of the above sound amazing! I was so excited to try this product and when it arrived I was excited to see if it lived up to all the hype!
As soon as I opened the neat packaging I knew this mask would be all I needed for my new skincare regime! The cool grey mud is thick and luxurious but not sticky or gloopy. It is cooling and soothing on the skin but is easy to wipe away. I couldn’t wait to trial it properly and really enjoy pampering myself!
So, I waited for an evening where I could dedicate some time to myself. I’ve had a stressful time recently as I’m changing jobs and lots of upheaval has been happening so this was much needed!
I filled my bath with bubbles, topped up my biggest glass with wine and slathered on the mud all over my face. I always avoid my lip area and nose, unless I’m having a particularly bad pore day. I slipped into my bath and waited for the inevitable itchy hardness of the mask to tighten on my face and start to itch. I waited, and waited for a good 15 minutes. All the while relaxed and melting into my pamper evening. I was so shocked when my timer went off after 15 minutes – the mask never made it to that hard, itchy stage where you are clawing at your face to get it off! I was pleasantly surprised that it stayed fairly loose but had set a little. No more would I have to scrape off hard masks! Imagine my excitement!
Once the timer rang in my ears and I’d gotten over the shock of the smoothness and no feeling of itch I prepared myself for the usual scarping and scratching you usually go through to take off a mud mask.
I put my wine glass down and wet my flannel in the steaming hot water. I rubbed my skin and was so surprised to see that the Pristine Dead Sea Mud Mask came off almost straight away. I only had to gently rub at my skin for the mask to fall away and for my skin to feel flawless and soft! I have never had an experience like this with any sort of face mask!
I have used this mask again since my first trial and I cannot get enough! I have introduced it into my skin care regime where I apply it and really relax once a week – perfect me time! I have had such amazing feedback on my skin – people complimenting me on my clearer complexion and reduction of redness and blemishes and my sisters commenting on how soft my skin feels! Even in the mornings when my skin is at it’s worst, I looked a lot better after using the mask!
