Calling all you haters of your natural hair! Are you stuck straightening, crimping and taming your locks on a daily basis to hide your true tresses? Were you like me? In denial that my natural locks could look anything other than a frizzy mess/dragged through a hedge backwards? Well, I have a little something that may just change your mind – FOREVER! This post will help you channel that gorgeous beach Mermaid look that will be so HOT this Summer!
Introducing Maya. You may not have heard of it just yet, that’s OK! It’s brand new. But me, being the lucky little Blogger that I am, have managed to get my hands on a little pot to try out for you guys!
This pot may look small, but it packs one hell of a punch! This lovely little pot of Maya Styling Creme is a steal at £4 (you can buy it and look for their other lovely bits here) and it promises to defrizz, help repair dryness and lack of moisture and will keep your natural curls long lasting. The lovely people over at Maya who sent this over to me to sample kept me in the loop on the many ingredients they use to ensure you will get the best curly look!
Some of these ingrediants include: Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Argon Oil, Soybean Oil and Rice Extract. If, like me, you’re a little lost when it comes to these sorts of things, just rest assured, it’s all good stuff!
And it smells gorgeous! I can’t quite put my finger on what it reminds me of but it’s floral and fragrant that I was able to smell on my hair the entire time I had it in! Which was often and for long periods of time. Good new!
So, first thing’s first, right? What do I think of this product? To start with, I love the look of it! It’s so small that it could easily be packed in your gym bag to be used after the shower or in an over night bag. I love the black and gold theme which only adds to the luxurious feel of the product. And I love how it smells and how t makes my hair smell.
I am a huge straightener fan – I will not feel ready to go out without my waves kinked-out by my beloved GHDs, so Maya had its work cut out for it trying to convince me I would like it.
Ready for the results?
I loved it!
Due to over straightening my hair, my natural curls are much more relaxed than in previous years. To achieve this look, I added Maya to wet hair and scrunched it lots. Then I blow dried it while scrunching more. My hair ended up looking wavy and thick and not at all frizzy! Although my hair looked damp for a couple of hours, once the product had really set in, my hair stayed really soft and curly. I was really impressed with the look!
I would recommend this product to anyone!
