If you know anything about me, you’ll know I am nail polish addict! I love all things nail polish and any excuse I can find to jazz up my talons! So, I am welcoming Easter with open arms and painted nails! Here’s my speckled egg nail art tutorial! Hope you like my Easter Nails!
Easter is the time for indulgence and chocolate. But it’s a big time for fashion and beauty! Out will come the pastel colours and the florals – so I thought this simple speckled egg on lilac and pastel blue would fit perfectly!
To create this gorgeous yet simple look, I used my favourite brands! BarryM and Sally Hansen are my got-to for nail art and they last and don’t chip which is especially good for this look as any little nick will spoil the look altogether!
First up, you need to file and buff your nails to perfection. I always prefer a more square shape on my nails. Then you MUST splash out on a sturdy bottom coat to protect our precious nail beds! I always use either BarryM’s or Sally Hansens‘ base coat/strengthener. These two are really the best as my polish never bleeds and my nails are always a healthy colour after I take off my polish – rather than the yellow stain I see so much of!
Next up, apply thin layers of your lilac and pastel blue – I always think lighter layers that amount to maybe two or 3 layers are ALWAYS better than one or two thick splodgy layers.
Let the nails dry and apply a clear top coat. Once they are fully dry you’ll need a dotter – here’s where you can buy one for cheap! If you can’t get your hands on them, use a cocktail stick until you can.
Get enough white polish on the end of your dotter that it wont splodge but wont leave a hollow dot from being too thin. This part takes a bit of practice to make it uniform enough. I am a touch anal about uniform nails, so you can see mine are mostly all in line.
Once the dots are dry, add another layer of your top coat!
That’s all there is to it!
Such a simple method but such a classic look! Perfect for Easter! I always get compliments on this look!
Send me your version of my Easter nails!
