Social Media for a blogger is so important! To network and grow your Social Media channels is to grow your blog. They go hand in hand and once one starts to grow, so, in turn will the others. Now, I love to blog and I also love to help out fellow bloggers. So, while I am no pro at the whole thing, I have seen steady climbing coming from my Social Media channels in the last year of blogging – mostly my Twitter. I thought I’d impart some of knowledge to help you grow yours and we can all become successful, happy bloggers! Here are my 5 ways to grow your twitter!
So, let’s start with showing you my Twitter page. You can find it here:
As you can see it’s totally on brand; it is all “badged up” as I would say. That is, if you stumble upon my Twitter page, you a brand, a PR or a normal person, you’re going to know that my Twitter is linked with some sort of blog or website.
It is so important as a blogger to be “on brand” as much as possible. My Twitter name is the name of my blog, LoveRosiee – not something random like RosieRocks that has nothing to do with my blog.
This makes it so much easier for people to find you. And this is a rule of thumb for al of your social media channels – keep them badged up and on brand as much as possible. If you were to search LoveRosiee on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pintrest you’d find my little face and those distinctive roses just like my blog header!
Another great tip to Grow Your Twitter is to keep a look at your Twitter insights. This could not be easier either. If you are signed onto your Twitter app on your phone, then just hop on over to the internet and punch in Twitter Analytics it’ll link up to your profile and role out all your statistics for the last month.
I think it’s so important to keep a close eye on this! I am forever looking at my Analytics each month to see how many impressions I’ve had on the Twitter-sphere, how many people have followed me from one moth to another and which of my followers are most followed.
This can be something ignored easily, but honestly, it’s so worth keeping tabs on them!
Once your Twitter following starts to grow it’ll stop trickling and become more like a steady stream so using this tool will help you see if what you’re doing is working!
A brilliant way of growing your Twitter and just getting seen and interaction is to link your Tweets with photos. You can see on mine, though they are not the most imaginative of images (some of plugs from the blog, some of my Instagram feed with a link to follow, some of my Snapchat to be followed) above; these tweets always get seen far more than any normal tweet.
I don’t do this half as much as I’d like to!
One big part of growing your Twitter is to show people who you are and what you’re about.
Your bio!
Isn’t it so much nicer to speak with someone when you know who/what they are/what their intentions are. If I want to follow a blogger but they don’t have any links to their blog or any indication of what they and where they’re from I will not follow them!
It’s as simple as that!
I also put my rough location on my bio – this is to help brands and PR to reach out to me if there’s an event or the like near where I am based. Luckily, I’m based just outside of London where lots of Blog Events take place so I’m not going too far all that much!
Always always always PIN YOUR POSTS!
Got a brand new blog post?
Running a giveaway?
Featuring a brand and want to give them a shout out?
Get that tweet with the link and a photo or link card pinned to your feed – right at the top of your page for all to see!
If I’m on a profile and don’t see an easy access to a blog link etc. I’m off looking for another. Sorry, but I’m looking for posts to read and comment on and if I’m in a hurry, I’m not sticking around!
I really hope this post is helpful!
